WOMAD Skill Building

WOMAD is a platform for self-expression, income generation, and cultural preservation. We facilitate training in traditional and modern textile crafts, linking skilled artisans with sustainable market pathways..To train Bedouin women further in their artisanal crafting skills they need two sewing machines and yarn, glass beads, and fabrics. A small allowance for a local female teacher will guarantee that the women learn effectively under culturally appropriate conditions .

Objectives:

  • Empower women through hands-on skill development
  • Encourage intercultural learning and storytelling through crafts
  • Support dignified income generation

Priority Alignment:

This initiative directly strengthens SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth), rooted in community agency and cultural resilience.
